A moment for Flora MacDonald

2 Aug

I want to have a moment for Flora MacDonald today. Hearing her story since her passing, I realize she is an incredible women, and her accomplishments are to be remembered. Her accomplishments are many, from convincing a reluctant Conservative cabinet to admit 60,000 Southeast Asians on boats into Canada following the Vietnam War; to nearly winning the leadership of her party; and trailblazing as a female MP amongst hundreds of men; and more.

I wished I had met Flora. She sets an example that many of us are now following, connecting with the passion and commitment to a role – there’s a bit of Flora in all of us.

May we be inspired to stand up for our convictions, and may the energy and impact of her work live on.
